Scott is a Research and Innovation Division Manager at Clean Water Services in Hillsboro, Oregon. He leads the research division that conducts studies involving advanced modeling, sensing, emerging contaminants, molecular biology, climate, and conveyance. He is an active participant in dozens of ongoing research and engineering projects within these areas applying them to support stream restoration, stormwater management, regulatory issues, reuse, biosolids, and strategy at CWS. Scott worked in consulting for 7 years serving clients in both the private and public sectors before coming to Clean Water Services in 2017. He holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley and is a registered engineer in the State of Oregon. He is also very active in professional organizations and currently serves as the Pacific Northwest representative for the WateReuse Association Research Committee.

Susan Schlangen

Susan is a Professional Engineer with nearly 15 years of civil and environmental engineering experience focused on water supply planning, wastewater infrastructure design, and recycled water solutions. Susan serves as WSC’s Associate Director of Solutions Delivery, overseeing quality management and internal initiatives. As a reuse advocate and active member of WateReuse, Susan has a deep understanding and commitment to supporting forward-looking recycled water programs in the Pacific Northwest. Susan recognizes the value of stakeholder collaboration, transparency, and integration to achieve the most complex water solutions required to meet the demands of our regulatory, community growth, climate change and other critical impacts on our water health today.
