Oliver Browne is the California Regional Director at WestWater Research, where he leads projects involving the negotiation of complex water supply agreements and the economic analysis of water resource projects. He advises clients in California —including utilities, municipalities, private businesses, and government agencies—on water markets, supply reliability, and the financial and regional impacts of water management strategies.
Oliver has held senior consultant roles at several economic consulting firms specializing in water resource economics. In addition to a decade of consulting experience, Oliver has taught as a lecturer in economics at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Chicago. He has published academic papers in journals including The Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Energy Economics, and Energy Policy.
Oliver holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago and degrees in engineering science and economics from the University of Auckland.
