Advancing Regional Brine Management: Insights from WRF 5256 on Integrated Brine Management and Recovery
Presentation Time: 01:30 PM - 02:55 PM
Brine streams from reuse, industrial wastewater, and desalination present escalating challenges that utilities and industries can no longer address in isolation. With growing emphasis on water reuse and resource recovery, regionalized and integrated approaches offer a pathway to manage brine more cost-effectively while delivering environmental and community benefits.
WRF Project 5256 is developing a practical framework to guide stakeholders in planning collaborative, regionalized brine management and recovery strategies. This workshop will share early findings, highlight utility case studies, and actively engage participants in scenario-based discussions. Attendees will leave with actionable insights on overcoming barriers to regional collaboration and the opportunity to help shape a national steering committee that elevates brine management solutions.
