Dr. Miriam Hacker serves as the Strategic Engagement and Project Manager role with Brown and Caldwell. She recently transitioned from the Water Research Foundation (WRF), where she managed research portfolios for water reuse, utility governance, and workforce management. She has over a decade’s worth of experience in research focusing on topics such as how infrastructure is governed, community and stakeholder engagement, and the workforce behind our critical water infrastructure.
Fred Gerringer

Dr. Fred Gerringer is Brown and Caldwell’s national leader of reuse regulations and policy. After starting his career in the public sector, he’s spent the last 16 years helping clients develop and implement potable reuse projects. He also volunteers to support the WateReuse Association and the WEF water reuse community.

Dr. Kati Bell has over 25 years of experience in the water industry. Leveraging her global experience of billions gallons per day of treatment capacity, she leads innovation and supports execution of highly complex technical projects. Kati has experience in nearly every aspect of the water cycle with a focus on integrated solutions, emerging contaminants (PFAS and microplastics), water reuse, wastewater treatment/disinfection, related public policy, and permitting and regulatory support.

Troy Walker
Hazen and Sawyer
Troy Walker is the Water Reuse Practice Leader at Hazen and Sawyer. He has over 30 years of experience in the design and operation of advanced water treatment systems for potable reuse including projects in the United States, Australia, Singapore and South Africa. He has been at the forefront of operational training of AWTO from within operations teams as well as supporting initiatives through the Water Reuse Research Foundation on operationally focused research. He was one of the contributors to the California AWTO process and examination and has provided operational training for organizations and utilities across the country.
Susheera Pochiraju
Hazen and Sawyer
Susheera is a Principal Engineer in the drinking water and reuse group at Hazen's Denver office. She has 8 years of experience working with conventional and advanced water treatment technologies on a wide range of projects including applied research, bench-scale studies, reuse pilots, full-scale design of ozone, UV and AOP.
Topher Jones
Brown and Caldwell
Topher is working on advancing integrated water systems decision-making strategies at Brown and Caldwell. This focus is rooted in technical understanding of uncertainties and risks and how those variables may influence decision making. He received his PhD at the University of Colorado Boulder where he connected technical considerations to decision-making practices. Topher is interested in helping utilities navigate complex decisions; and considering risks associated with human impacts to water systems.
